Explain the process of registration briefly.
A link is available for online payment which leads to another web portal. In this portal, new user sign up is available. Choose this and enter the details required. The service no details are available in the white meter card or in the previous receipts. Choose the region appropriately. An automatic email will be generated on submission of registration particulars and on confirmation through the link on the email, the user is said to be successfully registered.If the service number which you are trying to register is already registered by another consumer, then you will get the message Consumer number already registered during registration. Still if you want to register that service number for your account, enter the new username and your email id and register a complaint. An email will be sent to the already registered user to delete his account. If he did not delete his account, the system will check the usage of his account for recent
What will happen if i type a wrong mail id?
Kindly take care to correctly type the mail id. If typed wrongly, the automatic confirmation mail cannot be received. Without confirmation through the link in the mail, you may not be able to login to your account...
I have not received the confirmation mail?
May be you have typed a wrong mail id. Your mail is sure to bounce and the registration details will be cancelled if the mail bounces. You may have to retry registration with a proper mail id. Else check your Junk mail in the Inbox.
How to pay using debit/credit card?
You can pay using credit / debit card of any one of the bank listed under (Any Master / Visa credit card or Debit card of the following banks can be used for making payment) through the PAYMENT GATEWAY OPTION by selecting one of the available gateway whose bank charges are displayed. After entering into any one of the gateways, give your debit/credit card details when asked and proceed for payment.
What shall I do If Receipt Is Not Generated / Error Page Displayed ?
After a successful transaction, if error page is displayed instead of the receipt , kindly check whether your bank account is already debited with the amount of earlier transaction before attempting to pay again for the same service no. If debited, please do not attempt to pay again for the same service no. The receipt will be sent to your registered email id in reasonable time after receiving the confirmation from the Bank. Also the receipt can be viewed in the payment report in your login id.
My transaction is not successful. If I try again, it states that it is already paid. What should I do?
The transaction is broken and will get reconciled automatically within next three working days. Check your bank account . If found debited, please do not attempt to pay again for the same service no.
Can I pay the penalties through online?
If you fail to pay the amount within due date , your service connection is liable for disconnection. However if not disconnected, you can pay through online along with belated surcharges. In case if the service is disconnected, kindly approach the section office for getting reconnected.
Who is reuired to pay electricity duty?
1. In case of energy supplied by a licensee (power distribution company) to the consumer, the licensee shall recover the electricity duty leviable under the Bengal Electricity Duty Act, 1935 from the consumer along with his own charges through monthly electricity bills and shall pay to the State Government at the prescribed time and in the prescribed manner. 2. In case of energy generated by a person other than the licensee, the person who generates such energy shall pay to the State Government at the prescribed time and in the prescribed manner at the rate specified in the First Schedule of the B.E.D. Act,1935.
What is the process for availing NO DUES certificate?
1.Apply for No Dues certificate through the web portal www.dedwb.gov.in 2.Confirmation is obtained from the Licensee regarding up to date payment of Electricity Duty for licensee consumption. 3.Electricity Duty payable on account of own generation is confirmed from this directorate by the respective officer after physical verification. 4.The No Dues certificate will be issued.
Grips Payment Steps from portal (those who have submitted manual application for processing registration, Renewal etc.)
1.Choose Payment Mode then click on Make Payment. 2.Check payment details and click on Confirm button. 3.Payment details will be saved after clicking on the Confirm button. Please select the Bank name to proceed. 4.Click on Go To (For Online Payment) to make online payment. 5.Check the details and re-confirm the Total Payable Amount and click on Confirm to confirm the amount payable. 6.After it is redirected to the banking website. It will display Payment Done Successfully where you can either Print the Page or Save the Acknowledgement. Please note that there is a message displaying below - Please do not close the browser. Continue to remain on the website. You will be redirected to Government of West Bengal website for your e-challan receipt. 7.Please wait till it is redirected to the Government website. 8.While the E-Receipt of WBDED Payment Transaction is displayed on the screen, Please do not refresh or close any page and wait while system is processing.
Limitation for Uploading the document
A consumer cannot upload a document size of more than 8 MB.
Clarification of file name regarding uploading any documents in the portal.
While uploading any document please avoid giving any Special Characters in the File Name.
Clarification of all the payment.
It is mandatory to deposit any payment through the portal (www.dedwb.gov.in) which will redirect to the payment gateway. After completing the payment please verify the payment by entering ID number generated in the challan for completion of payment procedure. Any payment procedure outside from this portal will not be validated by WBDED.
Rates of Electricity Duty under DISCOM (Licensee) consumers
1. ED charged for Low and Medium Voltage (LT) Industrial consumers- i. 2.5 per centum of net charge for energy consumed ( Above 500 Units and below of equal 2000 Units). ii. 7.5 per centum of net charge for energy consumed (Above 2000 Units and below of equal 3500 Units). iii. 12.5 per centum of net charge for energy consumed (Above 3500 Units). 2. ED charged for High Voltage (HT) Industrial consumers- i. 15 per centum of net charge for energy consumed (5 per centum for Furnace consumption). 3. ED charged for Low and Medium Voltage (LT) Commercial consumers- i. 10 per centum of net charge for energy consumed ( Above 150 Units and below of equal 500 Units). ii. 12.5 per centum of net charge for energy consumed (Above 500 Units and below of equal 1000 Units). iii. 15 per centum of net charge for energy consumed (Above 1000 Units). 4. ED charged for High Voltage (HT) Commercial consumers- i. 17.5 per centum of net charge for energy consumed. 5. ED charged for Low and Medium Voltage (LT) Domestic consumers- i. 10 per centum of net charge for energy consumed (Above 300 Units) 6. ED charged for High Voltage (HT) Domestic consumers- i. 15 per centum of net charge for energy consumed.
Rates of Electricity Duty under Own Generating Plant consumers
20 Paise for each unit of energy consumed.
